We Are Making Hats

Chicago TextileWorks has a cool couple of projects underway that I want to share with you.  First off, it’s winter (I mean, for all intents and purposes, it IS here.)  This means we need stuff to keep us warm.  Something like hats, maybe?  And scarves?

We’re starting two projects with the kids in the entrepreneurship track building not-for-profit business plans around  making for a cause.  First stop, Sandy.  We were going to do Scarves for Sandy, but they’re 10 and they just don’t have the patience for boring old rectangles.  So, we’re doing hats.  Today, they’re doing a cash flow and balance sheet so we can see how much to charge, what percentage of the donation will go to Sandy relief (not less than 75%) and what percentage they need for materials.  I don’t even like kids, but these kids are something else!

Second project is a secret until we meet with the little entrepreneurs tomorrow. I’ll be sending out a link to the project web pages soon!
