You know because I say it all the time, that Bill Cunningham has a piece of my heart. His photography is beyond. His philosophy is one I’ve adopted for myself, and it’s in these words of his that it’s captured:
“If you look for beauty, you will find it.”
To be ever on the lookout for something that is awesome, or just sweet; life-changing, or just smile-inducing. That’s the thing. Beauty doesn’t have to rock you to your core, I think. It’s enough to look on my dog having a fine time chasing a fly around the room and not think how annoying it is to have a fly in the room, but instead to smile at Russell’s one-eyed (no depth perception) attempts. It’s perspective. What’s good about a situation that otherwise seems hard? What’s beautiful about something that might otherwise seem ugly? If you look for what’s wrong, that’s all you’ll see. Better to look for beauty, I think. Onward! Happy Little Friday Eve!
